Frequently Asked Questions

Today’s vehicles come with a wide variety of safety features referred to as Advanced Driver Assist Systems. These systems are designed to help assist the driver with safe operation of the vehicle, help mitigate collision and reduce injury. They rely on cameras, radars and other sensors to gather information about the vehicles and their surroundings. When active, and depending on each system's design, they provide the driver with a warning, or have the ability to automatically take action.

There are many scenarios in which a calibration may be needed. Each is unique and required by a variety of manufacturer repair procedures. The most common case is after a collision. Others include windshield replacement, sensor removal or even wheel alignment. In any event, it is vital that each system works properly so that it is able to operate as intended. It is important to remember that not all systems will tell you they are in need of a calibration. A properly calibrated ADAS system gives you the best chance at avoiding any potential dangers.

A very controlled environment is best for proper calibrations. Our facility has perfectly leveled floors, neutral wall colors and plenty of space for large floor mats needed for bigger trucks and SUVs. A mobile service is dependent on the collision shop's environment, which could lead to improper calibrations. Factors such as low lighting, dust and floors that aren't level aren't ideal for these precise operations.
